The Potomac Company today announced that EG Systems, Inc., d/b/a Scotts LawnService (“Scotts”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, has engaged Potomac as its exclusive buy-side M&A advisor in the residential and commercial pest control industry. Potomac will provide strategy, valuation and buy-side M&A advisory to Scotts and assist Scotts in entering the residential and commercial pest control industry.
The Potomac Company will be advising Scotts on its goals and plans within the pest control industry, such as strategy, valuation, transaction structure, and implementation of growth strategies within the industry.
Potomac will begin by reviewing and analyzing the Company’s strategic and financial objectives, advising the Company on its implementation of goals and objectives within the pest control industry and advising the Company on determining appropriate acquisition targets within the pest control industry. In addition, Potomac will be advising the President of Scotts LawnService and his team on:
- The development of acquisition criteria
- Evaluating acquisition targets’ financial and operational performance, valuation and transaction structure.
- Establishing an appropriate due diligence protocol appropriate for pest management acquisitions.
- Integration issues and growth strategies in the pest control industry
- Building out M&A as a strategic capability
