ServiceMaster Acquires Decatur Pest Control

The Potomac Company is pleased to announce the acquisition of its client, Decatur Pest Control, by ServiceMaster. The business of Decatur will largely be integrated into the business of Inspect All Services, a former client of Potomac that was acquired by ServiceMaster.

Founded in 2007 by Dave Ryan, the Company services Decatur, GA and the Atlanta Metro Area. The Company’s 17 employees have joined ServiceMaster and Dave Ryan, the owner, immediately retired from the industry.

Dave Ryan, CEO of Decatur, commented:

“I was concerned with choosing an advisor that could navigate through the now complicated acquisition process with so many international purchasers in the market. Paul was referred by a fellow pest control operator and after researching Potomac I felt extremely comfortable with him guiding me through the entire process.

Paul is extremely capable and was able to provide the guidance needed in what became a grueling acquisition in the due diligence phase. Paul’s knowledge and expertise was extremely welcomed. However, I think the most critical skill set was actually his personal knowledge and respect with the acquisition team of the acquiring company.

Potomac, and Paul Giannamore in particular, made the sale of my company possible. Through this process Paul become a trusted advisor, friend, and member of MY Team. He was able to navigate the complex environment of this entire process from the financial numbers to the play of personalities successfully. Even though my transaction was not the largest I never felt like Paul neglected my transaction. Even after the purchase transaction concluded Paul and Potomac continue to advise me on the personal financial impact.

Every once in a while, you get to meet a true professional in his chosen field. I can personally tell you that Paul Giannamore is that true professional. From his formal education and his business education Paul brings it all together to the Pest Control M&A process probably bringing the highest level of competency in his profession.”

The transaction closed in 2019 and the terms were not disclosed. The Potomac Companyacted as exclusive financial advisor to Decatur Pest Control.
