The Potomac Company is pleased to announce the acquisition of its client Clark’s Termite & Pest Control (“Clark’s”) by Anticimex. With over 220 team members in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, the acquisition substantially increases Anticimex’s presence in key southeastern markets.
Clark’s Termite & Pest Control was founded in 1963 by Frank Clark with headquarters in Irmo, South Carolina. Clark established his career in pest control at Arrow Exterminating as general manager under Ray Kyzer. Just four years later, Frank Clark acquired Arrow Exterminating from Kyzer creating Clark’s Pest & Weed Control—a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arrow Exterminating Co., Inc. As the company grew, Clark’s Pest & Weed Control then became Clark’s Termite & Pest Control under Arrow Exterminating in 1995 providing both termite protection and pest protection.
Just a few years before in 1992, Clark’s son, David Clark, assumed the role as general manager making Clark’s Termite & Pest Control truly a family-owned and operated business. When Frank Clark retired in 2008, David succeeded him as CEO and purchased Arrow Exterminating and its exterminating, construction, mold and lawn care operations.
After only 13 years of leadership, David Clark had significantly expanded Clark’s Termite & Pest Control after acquiring the assets and customers of three companies: Fulcrum Pest Control, Carolina Exterminators, and AAA Pest Control—all based out of South Carolina. These transactions expanded Clark’s service area to North Carolina and Georgia.
With its expanded pest control footprint, today Clark’s handles lawn and landscaping, moisture control, termite prevention, wildlife and pest control services across the Carolinas and Georgia. Growing organically at double-digit rates, Clark’s generates over $20 million in revenue and has over 220 employees. As one of the largest pest control companies in the Southeast, Clark’s services 45 counties in South Carolina, 44 counties in North Carolina, and 5 counties in Georgia providing both residential and commercial services.
President of Anticimex North America, Brian Alexson, said: Partnering with the team at Clark’s positions Anticimex for continued expansion throughout the Carolinas. Clark’s has a rich and proud history as a leading provider of high-quality pest control services and an impressive track-record of growth. The values that drive Clark’s commitment to their customers and employees are very much aligned with Anticimex’s core values of trust, passion and innovation, which further solidified the mutual decision for the partnership. Together, we will continue to grow Clark’s and accelerate our growth in the Carolinas.
David Clark, president of CEO of Clark’s commented: With the alignment of core values and Anticimex’s available resources, our team members will have unique opportunities to develop professionally and personally while continuing to drive what we have built. The opportunity that Anticimex provided us was truly unique and came at the right time. I am truly excited about the future with our new Anticimex family as we progress towards our 60th anniversary and beyond.
Clark’s Termite & Pest Control was advised by Paul Giannamore and Franco Villanueva-Meyer of The Potomac Company.
